Practicing sport and recreational activities while preserving our environment is one of the Olympic movement's main concerns. As part of its 5 Rings Initiative, the World Olympians Association is working with Kids 4 Trees, a program designed to educate school children on the environment and trees, then plant trees in remote areas designated for reforestation as well as Urban Reforestation.
Kids4Trees and WOA have collaborated to involve Olympians in tree plantings across the US to bring a greater awareness to young people about the importance of our environment. The program begins with education about trees, biodiversity, water, and animals, multilingual tree songs from the Kids4Trees CD, art, and childrens' singers. The plantings come after the education phase, each child gets a Tree Kit to take info the field.
