Declaration of Cooperation between the World Olympians Association and Athens Environmental Foundation(AEF)
| This declaration of cooperation is made on this, the 24th day of January 2003, in Lausanne, Switzerland and on the occasion of the first board meeting of 2003 of the World Olympians Association. | |||||||||
| Whereas, the WOA is the organization recognized by the International Olympic Committee to represent the more than 100,000 Olympians around the world; | |||||||||
| Whereas, AEF has been established to support programs that encompass the fundamental principles of Olympism; | |||||||||
| Whereas World Olympians have an inherent interest in supporting sustainability programs in their countries, regions and communities; | |||||||||
| Now, therefore the WOA and AEF hereby declare their desire to cooperate and work jointly in AEF's programs in which World Olympians can participate, as follows: | |||||||||
| 1. The WOA supports the spirit of AEF and its programs. | |||||||||
| 2. The WOA encourages involvement in AEF's programs by National Olympic Committees and Olympians worldwide. | |||||||||
| 3. The WOA joins with AEF to urge participation in events and activities that promote the Olympic ideal and the four dimensions of Olympism -Sport, Culture, Environment and the Athlete - specifically in connection with the Athens 2004 Olympic games and future Olympics. | |||||||||
